Jonathan Edelhuber, Cognitive Fields

Join us at our new location inside the Packing Plant (507 Hagan St.) for the opening of "Cognitive Fields", a selection of playfully organized mixed media, pattern pieces from Jonathan Edelhuber! The show will be up through November.

Edelhuber received his BFA from Harding University and showed in David Lusk Gallery’s Price is right show last year. He has showed all over the U.S. and has work in private collections all over the world but this is the first time he has showed a full body of work in Nashville.

In his on-going series of paintings referred to as "Cognitive Fields", Edelhuber employs fragments of words and abstract imagery as a sort of short hand to capture an idea or feeling of a certain time and place. His personal symbolism and intuitive mark making result in an enigmatic narrative captured in paint.

For the artist, these surfaces hold the residue of this cognition and become physical products of thought that are caught somewhere between the physical and metaphysical.

Opening: Oct 1 6-9PM | Closes Nov 17
